Run for Research 2007 (RFR 2007), CHE's
first four-day agility trial, in partnership with Southern Berkshire Golden Retriever Club, devoted to raising money for canine health research is now history! We will not have the final income figures for six weeks but the weekend was a huge success. Here are the details:
- There were over 3500 entries in the four days of agility.
- Our two night agility matches had over 770 runs.
- Throughout the weekend, we were reminded of our purpose through the many class sponsorships, memorials and tributes to the great dogs and people in our lives posted in the arena.
- Tracie Hotchner, author and radio talk show host, signed her books (The Dog Bible and the newly released Cat Bible) for participants and judged our Halloween costume contest, complete with splendidly attired dogs and owners.
- The daily and Super raffles brought in thousands of dollars and provided much good-natured competition and excitement.
- Karen Hocker made lovely holiday portraits and donated half the proceeds to RFR 2007.
- All in all, we had a jam-packed and fun weekend while we were raising much needed money for research.
